Ford is returning to Formula 1.

Red Bull Powertrains and Ford will join forces to develop a next-generation hybrid powertrain that will supply engines to Oracle Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri from 2026 until at least 2030.

From 2023 onwards, Ford and Red Bull Powertrains began working on developing a powertrain that would be part of the new technical regulations for the 2026 season, including a 350kW electric motor and a new combustion engine capable of running on 100% clean fuel.

Ford-branded engines have won 176 Grand Prix victories, 10 World Constructors' Championships and 13 World Drivers' Championships, placing them third in Formula 1 history.

Ford engines took part in 7 races between 1963 and 1966.

Last entry was in 2004, in Brazilian Grand Prix.
